The International Plant Sentinel Network (IPSN) funded the project in March 2023 ‘Research and creation of an illustrated basic biosecurity guidance poster for botanic gardens and arboreta.’

This project aimed to identify key risks and current strategies regarding biosecurity measures at Botanic Gardens and Arboreta (BG&A) to help enhance public awareness and engagement regarding biosecurity, while simplifying the implementation of site-specific policies, ultimately safeguarding the health of our plant collections and ecosystems. As part of this work resources were gathered from participating institutions and compiled into accessible materials, including the poster below, accompanied by a resource sheet. By centralising information and best practices, we aim to facilitate uniformity in biosecurity efforts and provide cost-effective solutions that can be implemented across institutions, regardless of resources.
